We have designed and installed low voltage garden lighting schemes over several years and as technology has developed, it has brought endless possibilities.  Your lighting can be switched manually or we can design and install radio remote control dimmers on several individual circuits.  This can be further enhanced with mood/scene setting and linked to a home automation system.

One tremendous advantage of low voltage lighting is it's flexibility.  As landscapes mature, low voltage light fixtures can be relocated or adjusted with little effort.  Light fixtures are designed and installed to be safe against the elements of the British weather and can be positioned on walls, suspended from trees, buried in the ground, submerged in water features or placed in an open border to achieve the desired effects.

Installation

From the house 240v SWA cabling is taken into the garden where it terminates at a transformer box, exterior socket or mains light fixture.  The SWA cable is usually buried in the garden and marked using sand and electric warning marker tape for protection.

The 240v is reduced to a safer 12v through the use of the transformer boxes.  This low voltage then powers the light fixtures around the garden.  The 12v cabling is usually ducted and buried for protection.

We are able to create a number of lighting circuits able to be switched or dimmed by a small radio remote control.  These can over ride existing security lighting when desired or be activated by PIR sensors on your arrival.
The remote control can be programmed by your computer to provide several mood/ scene settings to suit the seasons and your garden uses.

All our electrical connections to your house mains are carried out by a qualified electrician to BS7671 'Part P', the new regulation with effect from 1st January 2005.
